Our Pom-Chi mix weighs just over 12 pounds. This seat has been a real life saver. It awkwardly fastens into the car seat but this does not bother me as my husband usually moves it from car to truck etc. Our dog really likes this. He can see more by being higher in this seat. He jumps onto the seat and waits for us to fasten his safety harness. He likes it so well, there are times we have to persuade him to leave! We have not had any problems with the legs snapping shut during travel. Murphy likes to chew on the liner so we removed it.
