I've owned and raised rats for over 15 years and in my opinion this is the best carrier on the market for rat use. It has a good strong plastic base and heavy powder coating that really last, unlike 'critter keeper' style carriers that break easily or fabric carriers that rats can easily chew out of. The top pops off the base easily for cleaning, but it is sturdy enough that you don't need to worry about your critters escaping and it will last for years of use. It will also double very well when you need a hospital cage for a sick rat.
