I bought these steps for my elderly cats, so the steps can easily accommodate their weight without a problem (they weight between 10-14 lbs). I do like that these steps are taller, so my cats can easily get up onto my taller bed. The problem with these particular steps is that they are angled downward, so when they crawl up and down the stairs, it throws off their balance. Try to imagine climbing up and down stairs yourself with the steps on an angle. Not exactly very safe. The steps should have been designed flat and on a right angle. I'm not sure what the purpose is for this design, but it doesn't seem to serve any purpose but to create problems for them. If I had to purchase steps again, I would not pick these.
